Pretty In Pink Foundation is celebrating another record-breaking year in its mission to support breast
Phyllis has been a nurse assistant for more than 40 years. She loves taking care of people…so much so that it was difficult for her when the tables were turned after her breast cancer diagnosis. She worked part-time and had insurance, but it wasn’t enough. Phyllis was worried about how she was going to pay her regular bills, in addition to the hefty medical bills. She needed help. That’s when she found Pretty In Pink.
Phyllis says becoming a Pretty In Pink Champion gave her hope. “I was running through my house hollering “thank you, Jesus” and shouting all over the place. It was just like a big burden had been lifted. I didn’t have to worry about paying my medical bills anymore.”
Phyllis was able to focus on her recovery and getting back to work. The busy mother and grandmother is also radio broadcaster on WDRB media.
