Chelsea's Story

Chelsea has always been an athlete, a fighter, and someone who pushes through challenges. At just 27 years old, she never imagined that breast cancer would be one of those challenges. After feeling a burning sensation during a volleyball game, she discovered a lump—leading to a stage four diagnosis. With a new career as a Physical Therapist Assistant and a husband in nursing school, the medical bills piled up, reaching $27,000, and despite receiving some financial assistance, it wasn’t enough. That’s when Chelsea’s social worker referred her to Pretty In Pink Foundation. Pretty In Pink helped cover her medical expenses, easing a major stress in her life, and sent her a comfort care tote bag that she still uses today.

“This has been such a blessing,” Chelsea says. “I was going to have to pay so much out of pocket. It’s almost impossible to go through something like this without assistance. Pretty In Pink has been a positive light in a negative diagnosis. You can tell they really care.”

Now, Chelsea continues to fight with the same resilience she brought to the volleyball court.
